Derek Walker Vi Stannard marry. An 84-year-old British man is set to marry his 94-year-old fiancé. Derek Walker, who lives in Harkstead, Suffolk, will tie the knot with his future bride Vi Stannard on September 3rd, 12 years after he first asked for her hand in marriage.

He said: "The right woman didn't come along until now."

The ex-Royal Navy surgeon was previously turned down after popping the question because Vi, who is a devout Christian, was separated from her husband at the time and she did not believe in divorce.

However, her ex-husband died in 1997 and Vi and Derek decided to marry.
